Vice President Hu Sishe Meets with Korean Women's Association Delegation
Mr. Hu Sishe, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with a twenty-five member Korean Women's Association (KWA) delegation led by Mme. CHO TAEIM, President of KWA on the afternoon of May, 26th.
Vice President Hu extended warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that women not only bear the duty for family, but also for society. The visiting of the KWA will play an active role in promoting the cooperation and development about the women and children of the two countries. He also said that China and Korea should actively promote the cooperation of the small and medium-sized enterprises of the two countries, further expand the exchanges of the two peoples, enhance the friendly collaborative relationship of the two countries with the principals of planning together, building together and benefiting together.
Vice President Hu Sishe spoke highly of the unremitting efforts the Korea and China Cities Association for the Exchanging Friendship (KCCAEF) had made for many years on the friendship of the two peoples. He hoped that the two peoples could pay more attention to the friendly relations between China and Korea, and make contributions to the peaceful development of Northeast Asian area.
The delegation also visited Haidian Women and Children’s Activity Center, and had a discussion with Beijing Women’s Federation on the morning of May, 26. Both sides introduced the general work developed in their own country about women and children to each other, and hoped to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation of the two countries in this field in future.

Reception for the 45th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Malta Diplomatic Relations Held in Beijing
On May 25th, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Embassy of Malta in Beijing jointly held a reception for the 45th anniversary of China-Malta diplomatic relations in Beijing. Mr Ma Biao, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, Mr John Aquilina, Ambassador of Malta to China, Ms Zhang Qiujian, Deputy Secretary General of the CPPCC, Mr Hu Sishe, Vice President of the CPAFFC, together with around 120 guests from the International Liaison Department of the CCCPC, the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, ambassadors from Greece, Latvia,Slovakia, the Philippines and Montenegro to China together with Deputy Heads of Mission and diplomats from the EU delegation and relevant foreign embassies to China and representatives from all sectors attended the reception. Vice President of the CPAFFC Hu Sishe and Ambassador John Aquilina delivered speeches.
Vice President Hu Sishe said in his speech that the past 45 years has witnessed steady development of China-Malta relations with fruitful cooperation in all fields. Exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in all sectors has not only enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between their people, but also enriched exchanges and mutual learning between eastern and western civilizations. The CPAFFC is willing to take the 45th anniversary of China-Malta diplomatic ties as an opportunity to work with Malta, on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, further strengthen practical cooperation in all fields, and promote the bilateral relations to a new height.
Ambassador John Aquilina reviewed the development of Malta-China relations in the 45 years and said that Malta is willing to cooperate with China, further strengthen the bilateral political, economical and cultural relations on the basis of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations and bring benefits to the Maltese and Chinese people.
On the reception, Vice Chairman Ma Biao and Ambassador John Aquilina attended the unveiling ceremony of commemorative envelop for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malta and jointly cut the cake for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
A Reception for the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Bahamas Held in Beijing
A reception for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bahamas was held in Beijing on May 25th. Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary-General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and Mr. PAUL ANDREW GOMEZ, Ambassador of Bahamas Embassy in China, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Zhang Ping said that both sides should take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China and Bahamas diplomatic relations as an opportunity to further strengthen friendly cooperation in various fields of the two countries, carry out the traditional friendship of the two peoples and push bilateral ties for improvement. CPAFFC Secretary-General Li Xikui said in his speech that since the establishment of China and Bahamas diplomatic relations, the bilateral ties have developed smoothly and China-Bahamas friendly relations have deeply rooted in the hearts of two peoples. We are willing to promote the cause of the friendship of the two peoples, so as to develop the bilateral relations.
Ambassador PAUL ANDREW GOMEZ said in his speech that Bahamas has deep feeling with China. Both sides keep mutual respect and trust, and continuously deepen the cooperation in the fields of agriculture, education, culture, trade and finance. He hoped that the two countries could work together to continuously develop the friendship of the two peoples and create a bright future.
Vice President Xie Yuan Leads a Delegation to Visit Myanmar
At the invitation of Myanmar-China Friendship Association (MCFA), Vice President Xie Yuan led a delegation to visit Myanmar from May 22nd to 24th. During the stay in Myanmar, Vice President Xie respectively met with Permanent Secretary U Kyaw Zeya of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, Hluttaw Chairman U Tin Maung Htun of Yangon Province, President U Tin Oo of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees and President U Sein Win Aung of MCFA.
Vice President Xie pointed out that China and Myanmar are linked by mountains and rivers and enjoy time-honored "Paukphaw" friendship. CPAFFC cherish our traditional friendship initiated by the older generations of Chinese and Myanmar leaders and our two peoples and has been devoted to promoting people-to-people friendship and local contacts between our two sides. In 2013, our two presidents made exchange of visits and laid a solid foundation of our partnership.CPAFFC will as always support various cooperation between our two countries at people-to-people and local government level under the "Belt and Road" framework. Xie briefed them on the BCIM Local Governments Cooperation Forum initiated by CPAFFC, and invited them to attend the second forum which will be held later this year in China.
U Kyaw Zeya emphasized that the traditional friendship between China and Myanmar has been handed down from generation to generation. Myanmar appreciates the efforts made by CPAFFC in enhancing the traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides. U Tin Maung Htun said that Yangon has played a leading role in the two countries’ local cooperation. He hoped that more friendly relations could be forged between Yangon and Chinese cities/provinces. U Tin Oo mentioned that as the former ambassador to China, I have visited many places in China and fully understood the importance of local exchanges and cooperation. He also hoped that more contacts could be conducted between the two sides in local cooperation and religious exchanges. U Sein Win Aung said that our two associations have always been good partners in enhancing two peoples’ friendship, and MCFA is willing to conduct all kinds of cooperation with CPAFFC, so as to consolidate the public opinion support of China-Myanmar friendship. They all showed great interest in the 2nd BCIM Local Governments Cooperation Forum and agreed to attend the Forum to promote China-Myanmar local exchanges and cooperation.

Vice President Lin Yi meets with Mr. Abdelghani Kabara Consultant of Lebanese Prime Minster for Northern Affairs
On May 23rd, Madam Lin Yi, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Mr. Abdelghani Kabara, Consultant of Lebanese Prime Minister for Northern Affairs.
Madam Lin Yi welcomed Mr. Kabara to the CPAFFC and introduced the people-to-people exchanges between the CPAFFC and Lebanon, she said the CPAFFC is willing to actively promote the Chinese local governments, academic institutions and enterprises to establish sister cities and carry out the exchanges in culture, trade and other areas with their counterparts in Lebanon to further consolidate the people-to-people friendly cooperation relations between China and Lebanon.
Mr. Kabara thanked Madam Lin for meeting with him and introduced the basic situation of Tripoli city and projects in progress in the city including port, airport, railway and knowledge city and welcomed the Chinese side to visit and invest in Tripoli city and the northern area. Mr. Kabara said Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri highly appreciates and supports the “Belt and Road Initiative" raised by China, Lebanon is willing to give full play to its unique geographical advantages to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields.
The northern area of Lebanon is located beside Syria. As the capital of the Northern Province, Tripoli is the second largest city of Lebanon.
Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with Bukhara Delegation from Uzbekistan
Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Aminov, Vice Mayor of Bukhara City of Uzbekistan and President of the Financial Affairs Bureau of Government, and his delegation on May 18th.
Vice President Song extended warm welcome to the delegation. Both sides exchanged their views on further strengthening the exchanges between Bukhara City and Chinese cities, and developing the cooperation in the fields of the economy, trade, humanity, medical science, tourism and others of the two countries under the framework of the Belt and Road.
At the invitation of Luoyang Municipal Government, Henan Province, Vice Mayor Aminov and his delegation visited China. With the efforts of CPAFFC, on the afternoon of May 12th, Secretary of Communist Party of China Luoyang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Bukhara City of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum under the witness of the two state heads during the Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev paying the first state visit to China.

Malagasy Minister Visits China
At the invitation of CPAFFC, H. E. Narson Rafidimanana, Minister of State for Presidential Projects, Land Management and Equipment of Madagascar, paid a visit to China from May 13 to 18 of 2017 with his delegation. During the visit, Mr. Rafidimanana attended the concerning activities of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and a luncheon held by President Li Xiaolin of CPAFFC. Vice President of CPAFFC Mme. Lin Yi, Director-General of Guangdong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office Mr. Chen Qiuyan, Mayor of Wenzhou Mr. Zhang Geng and his deputy Mr. Miao Weilun met with or dinned with the delegation respectively. The delegation also held a business meeting with China-Africa Chamber of Commerce of Wenzhou, and took study tours to Chint Group, Gold Emperor Group and Kangle Pharmaceutical.
CJFA President Tang Jiaxuan Meets with Japanese Matsuyama Ballet Guests

Vice President Xie Yuan Meets Harvard Kennedy SchoolDelegation
On May 17th, Vice President Xie Yuan met with student delegation from Harvard Kennedy School. Xie introduced the leading and bridging role the CPAFFC has played in the China-US sub-national exchanges and cooperation. He pointed out that mutual visits between youth is an essential part of the sub-national exchanges and an effective channel to enhance mutual understanding and friendship. He encouraged the students to make further contributions to youth exchanges and sub-national cooperation between the two countries. Student representative Wilson Tong expressed sincere appreciation to the CPAFFC for receiving the delegation. He said that this was the first visit to China for most delegation members. The informative trip helped them understand more about China’s education, public policy, foreign affairs and culture, which changed some rigid perception they held towards China.
