On May 8, CPAFFC Vice President Song Jingwu met with Japanese Orphans Thank Chinese Parents Society delegation.

CPPCC Chairman Yu Zhengsheng Meets with Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' union Delegation
Mr. Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in the Great Hall of the People with Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ union delegation led by President KOMURA MASAHIKO on May 4th.
Yu Zhengsheng said that since the 45 years of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations, the two countries had reached four political documents, and the exchanges and cooperation in various fields between China and Japan had developed fast. The situation is not easy to achieve at all, it is worth cherishing. Adhering to the spirit of reviewing the history and looking into the future, the Chinese side firmly keeps to the general direction of peace, friendship and cooperation of the bilateral relations so as to push the Sino-Japanese relations for improvement. The Japanese side should stay committed to the four political documents and the four-point principled consensus between China and Japan, and properly handle historical, Taiwan and other important issues so as to remain the political foundation of the two countries. He hoped Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ union to carry forward the tradition, actively dedicate to the exchanges among the political circles of the two countries and continue to make efforts on improving the bilateral ties.
President KOMURA MASAHIKO expressed that the Sino-Japanese relations had been maintaining the momentum of improving bilateral relations since a consensus on improving the bilateral ties reached by the two heads of state last year. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China and Japan diplomatic relations. Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan. Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ union is willing to inherit fine traditions and make contributions to push bilateral relations for improvement.

On May 3rd, Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, President of China-Japan Friendship Association (CJFA), met in Beijing with Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ union (JCFPU) delegation led by Mr. KOMURA MASAHIKO, President of JCFPU, Vice Chairman of Liberal Democratic Party. Mr. Kong Xuanyou, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Mr. YOKOI YUTAKA, Ambassador of Japanese Embassy in China, attended the meeting.
Tang Jiaxuan said, China and Japan are important close neighbors. Peaceful coexistence and friendship for generations are the solitary correct choices for the two countries. The Chinese side adheres to develop Sino-Japanese good-neighborly and friendly relations on the basis of the four political documents and the four-point principal consensus between China and Japan and in the spirit of reviewing the history and looking into the future. At present, the general relations of the two countries are stable, while the foundation is still fragile. Both sides should commonly maintain the political foundation of the bilateral relations, strengthen the exchanges and cooperation of the two countries in various fields and properly handle the important sensitive issues of the Sino-Japanese relations on the basis of the important historical points. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations and next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan, so we could push bilateral relations for improvement toward the correct direction of peace, friendship and cooperation. He hoped that JCFPU could keep firm belief and make more contributions to improving the bilateral ties.
KOMURA MASAHIKO said that the two countries should not only develop good-neighborly and friendly relations for each other, but also should jointly make contributions to the peace and development of the regions. He also expressed that the Japanese side is willing to continue staying committed to the four political documents and work with the Chinese side to take the 45th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-China diplomatic relations in this year and the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China in next year as an opportunity to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation of the two countries in various fields and levels, enhance the mutual understanding of the two peoples and push bilateral relations for further improvement. He also said that JCFPU would make efforts for this.
CPAFFC Secretary-General Li Xikui Visits Spain and Morocco
At the invitation of Public Diplomacy Council of Catalonia (DIPLOCAT), Spain and the ORU-Fogar, Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary-General of CPAFFC and Council President of CFFPD visited Spain and Morocco from April 22 to 29.
During in Spain, the delegation attended the Sant Jordi Festival ( a literature festival symbolized by books and roses), held working meetings with Mr. Albert Royo, Secretary-General of DIPLOCAT and met with Mr. Maria Marin, Technical Secreary of Catalan Booksellers Association, reaching consensus on organizing Chinese writers to attend the festival in the future.
During in Morocco, the delegation attended the executive council meeting of ORU-Fogar and called on Morocco Prime Minster H.E. Saadeddine El Othmani. The delegation also held working meeting with Mr. Abdessamad Sekkal, President of ORU-Fogar and President of Council, Region Rabat-Sale-Kenitra, met with Ms. Bassama Hakkaoui, Minister of Solidarity, Women, Family and Social Development, Mr. Mounir Ferram, Deputy President of Council, Region Casablanca-Settat, and Dr. Mohamed Khalil, President of Morocco-China Friendship Association. During the ORU-Fogar meeting, CFFPD also signed the MOU with the Global Fund for City Development (FMDV).
Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with and Holds a Banquet for Uzbekistan Delegation
Mr.Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Uzbekistan local government leaders delegation led by Mr. Sherzod ISMATULLAYEV, Mayor of Gulistan, Capital of Syr Darya states, Uzbekistan, and held a banquet for them on April 28.
Vice President Song Jingwu extended his warm welcome to the delegation and made a brief introduction about the basic function of CPAFFC and the general work developed with Uzbekistan in recent years. He also introduced the Belt and Road to the delegation, and hoped that the two countries should strengthen the exchanges of friendly-cities and the cooperation of the localities. The delegation spoke highly of the actively contributions CPAFFC had made to enhancing the traditional friendship and mutual understanding of the two peoples, shortening the distance between the hearts of two peoples and promoting the exchanges of the humanity and culture and etc.. They are willing to deepen reform and opening up as well as promote local cooperation for Uzbekistan by learning Chinese experience.
At the invitation of Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan and organized by it, the delegation visited China. It also arrived in Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing and etc. in succession and visited some well-known enterprises including Skyworth, HUAWEI, SUNIRAY, Beijing Capital Agribusiness Group, Tongrentang Group Ltd, Beijing Yizhuang Development Area. It was the first time for the delegation to visit CPAFFC.

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), a delegation led by Madame.Naraporn Chan-o-cha, wife of Thai Prime inister, visited China from 23th to 27th, in April. Mme. Shen Yueyue, Vice- Chairperson of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Mme. Gu Xiulian, President of China- ASEAN Association, Mme. Lin Huiqing, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China, met respectively with the delegation. They exchanged views on the bilateral relations, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in other relevant fields. The Festival was successfully held in China last year and it comes to the African continent this year. The 2nd Festival, themed on “Unity, Responsibility for Common Prosperity”, was a great success with President Zuma’s personal care. It will definitely contribute to deepening the mutual understanding and learning between the Chinese and African youth, and have a positive impact on the development of China-Africa cooperation.

Through these activities, the Chinese and African youth have enhanced mutual understanding, deepened their understanding and recognition of China-Africa friendship and strengthened their sense of mission and responsibility of devotion to China-Africa cooperation.

Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with Former President of VNC
On April 26th, vice president Song Jingwu met with Mr. Jaap Post, former president of Netherlands China Friendship Association (VNC) and Mr.OEY Toen Ping, vice president of Rotterdam Branch. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on co-hosting Dutch China Local Government Forum in the second half of the year in the Netherlands.
