Vice President Hu Sishe Attends Opening Ceremony of “Journey of Chinese Art -- Xu Peichen’s Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Russia”
In response to the Belt and Road Initiatives, which proposed by president Xi Jinping, to further promote the exchange of international culture, to strengthen the cooperation of culture and art between China and Russia, to enrich the culture of the two peoples, an opening ceremony of “Journey of Chinese Art -- Xu Peichen’s Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Russia” was held in Duma, Moscow on June 6 to 9, 2017. It was supported by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and China Artists Association, arranged by China Friendship Art Exchange Association, co-hosted by China Entrepreneurs Union, the Russian Asian union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Nanjing Normal University.
88 creations of professor Xu Peichen were displayed this time in various forms and subjects including the Chinese flower-and -bird and landscape paintings. All of these were exquisite works created by professor Xu Peichen in 2017.
Mr. Zyuganov, Vice Chairman of the Moscow Duma, Mr. Hu Sishe, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. Zhang Xiao, Minister of Chinese Embassy in Russia, Mr. Wang Heshan, Secretary-General of China Friendship Art Exchange Association,Mr. Ailan Wei, Secretary-General of Russia China Friendship Association, Mr. Liu Lida, Vice Chairman of the Russian Asian union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and hundreds of guests were present at the opening ceremony. The works of Professor Xu were respectively collected by the Moscow Duma, the Russian Asian union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Moscow National Art University. Professor Xu was also awarded certifications from them.
Mr. Zhang Xiao, Minister of Chinese Embassy in Russia, who said that this exhibition not only shows Chinese’s traditional culture to Russia, but also is an effective implementation of the Belt and Road strategy, which is significant for enhancing the friendship and mutual understanding between China and Russia.
“Finnish Midsummer Goes Beijing”--Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Finland’s Independence Successfully Held in Beijing
On June 7th, the “Finnish Midsummer Goes Beijing”--Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Finland’s Independence, co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Embassy of Finland in Beijing, was successfully held in the CPAFFC. About 300 people from the two countries attended the event.
Vice President Lin Yi of CPAFFC, Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintil?, and Finish Ambassador to China Marja Rislakki attended the event and addressed the audience. Vice President Lin Yi conveyed her warm congratulations and best wishes to the Finnish people on the 100th anniversary of Finland’s Independence, and expressed CPAFFC’s willingness to facilitate the people-to-people friendship and local government cooperation with the Finnish side, and constantly inject new impetus into the future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between China and Finland.
The Finnish famous YL Male Voice Choir made a special visit to the event and brought traditional Finnish music performance for the audience. The event also taught people Finnish traditional dances and displayed Finland’s folk activities, which showcased the authentic Finnish Midsummer Festival.
Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with President of the Friendship Association Netherlands-China and Signs a Cooperation MOU
On 6th June, Vice President Song Jingwu of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC) met with Mr Henk Kool, President of the Friendship Association Netherlands-China, and his delegation, which was invited by the CPAFFC to visit China. The two sides exchanged ideas on how to promote China-Netherlands local government cooperation, and signed a cooperation MOU on co-organizing Dutch China Friendship Conference for provinces and municipalities under the witness of Mr Henk Kamp, Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, and Mr Paul Menkveld, Charge d' Affaires a.i. of the Dutch Embassy in China.
Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with New Kyrgyzstan Ambassador to China Usenov
On June 6, Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Usenov, New Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Embassy in China.
Vice President Song extended warm welcome to Ambassador Usenov and congratulated him on taking the new post. Vice President Song also made a brief introduction about the function of CPAFFC and appreciated a lot of support given by Kyrgyzstan Embassy in China for many years. He is willing to work together with Ambassador Usenov to continue promoting the people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation of the two countries.
Usenov spoke highly of the unique role CPAFFC played in the exchanges of sister-cities, local cooperation and the exchanges of people-to-people. He thanked CPAFFC for making positive contributions to promoting the bilateral relations, and expressed that during his tenure, Kyrgyzstan Embassy in China would continue keeping close collaborative relations with CPAFFC and playing the role of a bridge, so as to push bilateral relations for improvement.

Vice President Song Jingwu Meets with Uzbekistan Ambassador to China Kurbanov
On June 6, Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Kurbanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Embassy in China.
Both sides had an in-depth discussion on further promoting the cooperation of the districts, the exchanges of humanity and culture, and the exchanges of sister-cities between China and Uzbekistan.

Georgetown Student Delegation Pays Visits to Department of American & Oceanian Affairs
On June 5th ,Hao Zhongwei ,Deputy Director General of Department of American & Oceanian Affairs, met with Georgetown Student Delegation in Beijing.
Deputy Director General Hao introduced the important role of CPAFFC in promoting China-U.S. subnational exchanges, as well as China’s social, medical and educational conditions to the delegation. He encouraged the delegation members to vigorously engage in friendly exchanges, especially youth exchanges between the two countries.
Professor Dennis Wilder from Georgetown University thanked CPAFFC for its hospitality and hoped the students to gain a better understanding of China’s political, economic and social development as well as U.S.-China relations through this visit.

On June 5, Mr. Michael Winzer, Head of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Office in Beijing, paid an official call upon Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
Both sides exchanged their views on the cooperation in the fields of humanity and culture between China and Germany in future. CJFA President Tang Jiaxuan Meets with Japan and China Friendly Exchange Delegation from Kyushu
On June 2nd, Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, President of China-Japan Friendship Association (CJFA), met in Beijing with the main members of the friendly exchange delegation from Kyushu, Japan for the fourth time to visit China, which was led by Mr. MATSUMOTO RYU, President of Fukuoka-Ken Japan-China Friendship Association, Former Minister of Environment.
President Tang extended welcome to the delegation and expressed appreciation to the Kyushu Japan-China Friendship Association (KJCFA) for adhering to friendly faith and visiting China even if the bilateral relations encountered the difficulties. Moreover, KJCFA held Japan-China friendly exchange conferences in Kyushu for 4 consecutive years.
President Tang said that people-to-people exchange is the fine tradition of the Sino-Japanese relations. The nongovernmental organizations of the two countries should take the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations as an opportunity to firmly believe in Sino-Japanese friendship, carry out the fine tradition, firmly keep to the general direction of peace, friendship and cooperation of bilateral relations, expand the exchanges of grass-roots, strengthen the pragmatic cooperation and greatly develop the exchange of the youth.
MATSUMOTO RYU said that strengthening the exchanges of the people-to-people and the youth of the two countries are important parts of promoting bilateral relations. He is willing to continue developing the potential of the exchange of the people-to-people, so as to enhance the exchange and cooperation between China and Japan.
The main members of the delegation also expressed their hopes and wishes for Sino-Japanese friendship respectively.

Vice President Xie Yuan Meets with Intendant of Canelones Department, Uruguay
Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Yamandu Orsi, Intendant of Canelones Department, Uruguay and his delegation on May 31th.
Vice President Xie Yuan made a brief introduction about the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the work on Latin America and Caribbean area developed by CPAFFC. He expressed that CPAFFC would continue to develop the exchanges in the fields of local government, football and others with Uruguay. Yamandú Orsi showed appreciation to China for her courage to take responsibility, claim to openness and globalization in current situation. He also hoped to further strengthen the pragmatic cooperation with all the provinces and cities in China through CPAFFC.
Beijing issues certificates of registry to four German NGOs
Recently, the overseas NGO management office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has hosted the issuing ceremony in Beijing, and issued the certificates of registry and chief representative certificates to the four German NGOs’ offices in Beijing, which are the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Heinrich B?ll Foundation, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, and the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
The overseas NGO management office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and the relevant personnel from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Ministry of Education, who are their business supervision & administration unit, have issued the certificates of registry and chief representative certificates to the chief representatives of the four NGOs respectively, and congratulating their success in setting up offices in Beijing, also wishing for them to uphold the usual principle of public interest and friendliness, and contribute more to the friendly exchanges and development of public welfare between China and Germany.
All four chief representatives have expressed their gratitude toward the high efficiency and warm service of the overseas NGO management office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and two business supervision & administration units, and said they will strictly carry out activities under the legal terms within China, strengthen contact and communication with the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and business supervision & administration units, actively contribute to the friendship and development of public welfare between China and Germany. Michael Winzer, chief representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s office in Beijing, has gifted a silk banner to the overseas NGO management office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, expressing his gratitude for the efficient and warm service.
