President Li Xiaolin Meets with Mr. KAWAMURA TAKEO, Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Administration of the House of Representatives
President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. KAWAMURA TAKEO, the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Administration of the House of Representatives and the Former Minister of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT), and Mr. OTA AKIHIRO, Former Leader of Komeito on August 19th. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Mr. YOKOI YUTAKA, Japanese Ambassador to China, attended the meeting.
CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin welcomed KAWAMURA TAKEO to visit China and spoke highly of the efforts made by him on promoting the friendly exchanges of the two counties for a long time. She said that the bilateral relations were faced with many problems in recent years, which effected in the exchanges in various fields and the feelings of the two peoples. History and facts have proven that cooperation between China and Japan lead to win-win results while confrontation hurts both. The Chinese side attached importance to improving and developing Sino-Japanese relationship and hoped the bilateral ties can go back to a normal lane as early as possible. CPAFFC and CJFA(China-Japan Friendship Association) have been working for developing the people-to-people friendly exchanges and cooperation of the two countries, and in recent years the two organizations put emphasis on the exchanges in the fields of the humanity and culture, especially the youth. In the future, they will develop more creative activities and ways, and supply a better society environment and public support for improving the bilateral ties. CPAFFC Vice President Song Jingwu made an introduction about the exchanges activities developed in recent years for Japan in the fields of the political, economy, culture and youth to the Japanese side.
KAWAMURA TAKEO thanked President Li Xiaolin for taking her time to meet them and giving support to holding successfully Children’s Fairy Tale Exchanges Activity of China, Japan and Korea in China. He expressed that this activity was supported by many Parties in the Japanese Parliament. The youth could establish understanding and trust from young through exchanges. He hoped that they would gain valuable experience and become the main bridge for the friendly exchanges of the two countries by the way of holding exchange activities. He is also willing to continue playing his role in promoting the humanity and culture exchanges, especially the youth between China and Japan in the future.
OTA AKIHIRO said that the Chinese tourists visited Japan increasingly in recent years, which was popular with the Japanese. Next year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. The both sides should take this opportunity to develop the colorful activities and improve the feelings of the two peoples. We are looking forward for the dance drama, Crested Ibis, to tour again in Japan.
President Li Xiaolin Meets Former Governor Schweitzer from Montana, U.S.
On August 17th, President Li Xiaolin met with former Governor Brian Schweitzer from the state of Montana, U.S.
President Li said, Governor Schweitzer took an active part in China-U.S. Governors Forum and many other events organized by CPAFFC when he was in office, playing an important role in China-U.S. exchanges. She hoped that Governor Schweitzer would continue his efforts in enhancing bilateral relation and cooperation after he left office.
Governor Schweitzer spoke highly of the great contributions President Li has made for U.S.-China friendly ties. He also expressed his appreciation to CPAFFC for hosting his several missions to China. He said that the two countries shared closer cooperation and mutual interdependence. He is willing to continue to play an active role in promoting friendly cooperation between the two sides.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with Japanese Ambassador
At the invitation of Japanese Ambassador YOKOI YUTAKA, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with him in Japanese Ambassador’s residence on August 9.
President Li said, China and Japan are close neighbors, and this requires the both sides to choose the road of developing the friendly relations, which is also in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the Sino-Japanese relations. On the basis of the four political documents and in the spirit of reviewing the history and looking into the future, the Chinese side is willing to work together with Japan to implement the four principal consensuses reached by the both sides and push the bilateral ties to the normal lane. CPAFFC and CJFA (China-Japan Friendship Association) would like to make efforts to enhancing the friendly feeling of the two peoples and developing the public support of the two countries.
YOKOI YUTAKA spoke highly of the actively contributions made by CPAFFC and CJFA for a long time to developing the friendly relations between China and Japan. He said that they are willing to strengthen the cooperation with CPAFFC to promote the friendly exchanges of the two countries in various fields, expand the personage exchanges of the both sides and improve the bilateral relations.
Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. ITO KOICHI, Minister of the Japanese Embassy in China and others, attended the meeting.
President Li Xiaolin Meeting with Western U.S. Local Officials’ Delegation
President Li Xiaolin met with Western U.S. Local Officials’ Delegation on August 1, 2016, which was organized by U.S. Sino Friendship Association and headed by California State Treasurer John Chiang. The delegation is composed of mayors from the cities of Beverly Hills, Ontario, Yorba Linda, Coasta Mesa, Oxnard, Artesia of California and North Las Vegas of Nevada. Vice President Xie Yuan also attended the meeting.
President Li Xiaolin said, with the aims of enhancing people’s friendship and safeguarding world peace, the CPAFFC had established cooperation partnerships with nearly 600 non-governmental organizations and institutions in 157 countries across the world. China-U.S. subnational exchanges form the foundation of bilateral relations. 46 pairs of sister states and 212 pairs of sister cities have been established between the two countries. Five rounds of China-U.S. Governors Forum or dialogues have been held. She hoped every delegate learn more about China through this trip, while forging cooperative ties with their Chinese counterparts.
John Chiang highly commended the CPAFFC on its mission to safeguard world peace and promote common development. He said it’s the fourth time for Western Local Official’s Delegation to visit China. By paying visits to Chinese local governments and enterprises, the delegation is aimed to promote the exchanges and cooperation between western U.S. and Chinese localities in various areas, and serve as a bridge for friendship, understanding and peace between the east and west, as well as U.S. and China.
During the meeting, CPAFFC Vice President Xie Yuan signed an MOU with President Simon Pang of U.S. Sino Friendship Association, to further their friendly ties and the practical cooperation at the sub-national level between the two countries.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with Plenipotentiary of Russian President to Central Federal District
President Li Xiaolin met with Alexander Beglov, Plenipotentiary of Russian President to Central Federal District on August 1.
President Li Xiaolin extended her welcome to Alexander Beglov for his visiting and briefed the introduction on the work of CPAFFC, especially about Russia. The both sides had an in-depth discussion on strengthening the people-to-people exchanges of the two countries and promoting the regional cooperation.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with South African First Lady Tobeka Madiba Zuma
President Li Xiaolin met with Mme. Tobeka Madiba Zuma, First Lady of South Africa and Patron of the Tobeka Madiba Zuma Foundation (TMZ Foundation).
President Li Xiaolin welcomed Mme. Tobeka's visit to China, introduced the major charity projects conducted by the CPAFFC, and expressed willingness to actively cooperate with the TMZ Foundation.
Mme. Tobeka introduced the TMZ Foundation's work in HIV/AIDS prevention and control, and expressed her willingness to continue the exchanges with the CPAFFC.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Outgoing Colombian Ambassador to China Carmenza Jaramillo
CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with the outgoing Colombian Ambassador to China Carmenza Jaramillo on July 28, 2016.
President Li expressed appreciation and gratitude to Carmenza Jaramillo for her positive contributions to promoting the friendly relations between the two peoples during her tenure as Colombian Ambassador to China, and hoped that she will continue keeping contact with CPAFFC and supporting the friendly exchanges of the two countries after her tenure.
Ambassador Carmenza Jaramillo appreciated CPAFFC’s valuable support for the Embassy of Colombia in China and herself during her tenure, and said that the Embassy of Colombia in China has been paying attention to the role of CPAFFC played in the exchanges with foreign countries in China and will continue keeping close contact with CPAFFC and promoting the exchanges of the both sides in the fields of the culture and the local governments.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with British Ambassador to China
On 28th July, President Li Xiaolin of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with H.E. Ms Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China in British Ambassador’s Residence. The two sides have extensively exchanged views on the Second China-UK Regional Leaders Meeting, the two countries’ all-dimensional exchanges and cooperation, and hotspot issues of common concern to both sides.
Ambassador Woodard thanked the CPAFFC for the strong cooperation in a lot of ways, particularly jointly organizing the Inaugural China-UK Regional Leaders Summit, and helping arrange the British high level visits. She looked forward to making the working relationship with the CPAFFC more stronger, deeper and more fruitful, especially to organizing the Second China-UK Regional Leaders Meeting later this year.
President Li thanked the British Embassy in China for its support to the CPAFFC. She is ready to work with the UK to promote mutual understanding and mutual learning between the two countries and deliver more practical cooperation results in all sectors.

CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin Meets with Mr. Lorenzo Ku, President of Philippine-China Association for Promotion of Economy and Trade
CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin and Secretary General Li Xikui met with Mr. Lorenzo Ku in the morning of July 18th. He is the President of Philippine-China Association for Promotion of Economy and Trade, and also the People’s Friendship Contribution Award Winner. During the meeting, Mr. Lorenzo Ku introduced his new book, Patriotic Peace Escort, which was published recently. Using a large number of precious historical materials, the book described his contributions to promoting the cause of friendship and, the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries for several decades. President Li Xiaolin wrote the preface for the book and congratulated him on the publishing of the book. The both sides also had a discussion on the topics of how to strengthen the friendship of the two peoples and the exchanges of the friendly cities between the two countries.
