Chinese Youth Friendship Ambassadors Delegation Visits ROK
From April 21 to 26, at the invitation of the Korea Foundation (KF), Yuan Mindao, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation of 53 Chinese youth friendship ambassadors to visit Seoul and Jeju in the Republic of Korea (ROK). Chung Byung-won, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK; Oh Young-hoon, Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province; and Kim Tae-kyun, First Administrative Deputy Mayor of Seoul, held welcome ceremonies for the delegation respectively. Rhee Jong-kook, Executive Vice President of the KF, and Kim Eel-hwan, President of Jeju National University, met with and hosted dinners for the delegation respectively.During the visit, the delegation participated in multiple friendly exchange activities hosted by organizations such as the KF and Jeju National University, including youth exchanges and traditional cultural experiences. They also explored public infrastructure in the country, learned about governance experiences and development status at national and subnational levels, which helped enhance mutual understanding and trust.In his speech, Yuan Mindao gave positive evaluations of the cooperation achievements between China and the ROK across all fields, appreciated the crucial role played by friendly figures from all sectors in the ROK in deepening people-to-people friendship between the two countries, and introduced the guiding principles of China's Central Conference on Work Related to Neighboring Countries. Yuan noted that China and the ROK are close neighbors and inseparable partners. The fruitful outcomes achieved in bilateral relations over the past 33 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK prove that China-ROK friendly cooperation serves the interests of both countries and peoples. Youth people represent the future and hope of the cause. He looked forward to more exchanges between youth from the two countries, in-depth discussions on issues of common concern, deepened mutual trust and friendship, and joint efforts to be practitioners of China-ROK friendship, propelling forward the steady and sustained development of the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership.Rhee Jong-kook thanked the Chinese side for inviting the ROK youth delegation on a successful visit to China last year, and warmly welcomed the visit of the Chinese youth friendship ambassadors delegation to the ROK. It is believed that these mutual visits between the youth of the two countries signify the full resumption of China-ROK youth exchanges and expressed the hope that such interactions would foster lasting friendships among the youth of both countries. Chung Byung-won expressed that enhancing cultural exchanges and maintaining friendly sentiments are of utmost importance in developing China-ROK relations. Only through friendly exchanges among the younger generation can a solid foundation for state-to-state relations be laid. All sectors of society in the ROK extended their congratulations to China on its remarkable achievements in economic and social development, and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the CPAFFC in promoting people-to-people friendship between China and the ROK, particularly in facilitating subnational and youth exchanges. Furthermore, they conveyed the willingness to work hand in hand to make new contributions to the friendship between the two countries.The China-ROK Youth Friendship Ambassadors Exchange Program has been jointly implemented by the CPAFFC and the KF since 2009, with over 3,000 outstanding young people from both countries having participated in mutual visits through this initiative to date. This marks the first visit to the ROK by a Chinese youth friendship ambassadors delegation organized by the CPAFFC since the outbreak of Covid-19. The delegation consists of young civil servants from central government agencies and five provinces and municipalities, namely, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Yunnan, and Qinghai.

On April 23, 2025, Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Markus Ferber, Chairman of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Germany, at the CPAFFC. Vice President Shen Xin Attends Brazil-China Economic Summit
On April 23, 2025, the Brazil-China Economic Summit, hosted by Brazilian magazine Valor Econômico, was convened in Shanghai. Governor Kazuhiko Oigawa of Japan's Ibaraki Prefectural Government Leads Delegation to China
At the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Oigawa Kazuhiko, Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, along with Nishino Hajime, Speaker of the Ibaraki Prefectural Assembly, and Kawazu Takashi, President of the Ibaraki Prefecture Japan-China Friendship Association, led a 30-member delegation to visit China from April 15 to 20, 2025.On April 19, Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi Province, met with the delegation and signed a letter of intent for the development of the sister province/prefecture relations with Governor Oigawa Kazuhiko. Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Indonesia and Commemoration of 70th Anniversary of Bandung Conference Held in Beijing
On April 21, the celebration the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia and the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Indonesian Embassy in China, was held in Beijing. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun as well as Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin attended the event.In his speech, Wang Yi said that China and Indonesia are friendly neighbors facing each other across the sea and good friends with a shared future. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 75 years ago, the traditional friendship between the two countries has grown stronger over time, practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and bilateral relations have weathered storms and undergone trials, making remarkable achievements and leaving valuable experience. "Friendship Woods for a Shared Future" China-LAC Friendship Tree Planting Held
On April 18, 2025, the China-Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Friendship Tree Planting event, themed on "Friendship Woods for a Shared Future," was held in Hongbo Park, Xiaohongmen Township, Chaoyang District. It was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and organized by the Chaoyang District People's Government with the special support from the Embassy of Uruguay in China. Qiu Xiaoqi, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs; Li Xikui, Director of the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development and former Vice President of the CPAFFC; Fernando Lugris, Head of the Mission from LAC and Ambassador of Uruguay to China; and Hugo Slies, Ambassador of Bolivia to China, attended and addressed the event. About 100 people from all sectors of society participated in the event. "Bond with Kuliang" 2025 US-China Youth Health Dialogue Held in Guangzhou
On April 15, the "Bond with Kuliang" 2025 US-China Youth Health Dialogue was held in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong. The event was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and organized by the Guangdong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Guangdong Province Hospital Association. Shen Xin, Vice President of the CPAFFC, and Li Xin, Vice Chairperson of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the event and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. More than 130 young doctors and medical students from over 10 well-known hospitals and medical schools in China and the US, including Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Yale School of Medicine, and Harvard-affiliated hospitals, attended the event.Shen Xin said that as an important part of the "Bond with Kuliang" series of activities, this dialogue is an innovative move in the health sector to carry forward the special bond and implement President Xi Jinping's important initiative of inviting 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years. "Poetic China: Rhymes and Romance" 2025 UN Chinese Language Day Kicks off at UN Headquarters in New York
On April 15, the 2025 United Nations (UN) Chinese Language Day event, planned and organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of China to the UN, the National Museum of Chinese Writing and the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd., kicked off at the UN Headquarters in New York. Fu Cong, Head of the Permanent Mission of China to the UN, Movses Abelian, UN Under-Secretary-General, Ivor Richard Fung, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, and Qing Boming, Director-General of the Cultural Exchange Department of the CPAFFC, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. The event saw the participation of over 400 people, including senior officials of the permanent mission of various countries to the UN, Chinese staff with the UN, and representatives of Chinese language enthusiasts in the US.In their speeches, Chinese and foreign guests said that as one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, Chinese plays a pivotal role in the UN and is a golden key that unlocks the door to a broader world. The Chinese Language Day celebrates more than a language—it sustains intercultural dialogue and pools strength to move forward together. They urge using language as a medium to pursue dialogue instead of confrontation, resolve differences through inclusiveness, and join hands to build a community with a shared future for mankind.At the opening ceremony, Chinese language enthusiasts in the US recited representative excerpts of ancient Chinese poems such as the Book of Songs, the Book of Changes, A Short-Song Ballad, Spring Morning, and Prelude to Water Melody, and shared their personal feelings and experiences of learning Chinese. The modern poem Tune: Riverside Immortal Light of Civilizationss, composed by the Chinese artificial intelligence platform DeepSeek for the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN, was widely acclaimed by the participants. The event featured a performance of the Chinese song Jasmine Flower by the UN Singers upon invitation, an exhibition titled "Between the Lines: The Civilizational Code in Chinese Characters" and a VR micro-movie experience of Chinese characters, creating an immersive Chinese experience. In the evening, the Chinese Language Day Reception was held at the UN Headquarters. Chen Li, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in New York, and Cherith Norman Chalet, Assistant Secretary-General at the UN, attended the reception.The exhibition titled Between the Lines: The Civilizational Code in Chinese Characters will remain on display at the UN Headquarters for two additional weeks. An institutional program of the CPAFFC to showcase the fine traditional Chinese culture to the outside world, it premiered in Paris, France in 2024 to resounding success.
