President Li Xiaolin Meets Eugenio Rojas, Speaker of Bolivian Senate
President Li Xiaolin met with H.E. Mr. Eugenio Rojas, the speaker of Bolivian Senate and his delegation in Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) on 25, Nov, 2014.
President Li Xiaolin introduced the history, work of CPAFFC and the status of China- Bolivia friendship cities. She warmly welcomed Speaker Rojas and his delegation for visiting China and attending the 2014 China International Friendship Cities Conference. She hoped that the relationship between China and Bolivia would develop further with the help of Speaker Rojas and other Bolivian friendly-to-China personages, especially in broadening the fields of cooperation and strengthening the exchanges in culture and tourism.
Speaker Rojas appreciated for CPAFFC’s reception. He expressed his great interest in strengthening the establishment of China-Bolivia friendship cities and promised to help to strengthen the friendly exchanges with China in various circles.
Bolivia located at the center of the South America. Since its establishment of the diplomatic relations with China, the political mutual trust between the both sides has been continuously deepened and the high-level is keeping close contact. In 2013, Evo Morales, the president of Bolivia, paid a state visit to China. The leaders of the both counties had an in-depth exchange of views and reached important consensus on further developing bilateral relations. In 2012, at the invitation of CPAFFC, Gabriela Montano Viana, the former speaker of Bolivian Senate visited China and met with Wu Bangguo, Chairman of Standing Committee of NPC. Speaker Rojas worked in public education system before, and was elected as the mayor of Achocalla city in 2005. As the candidate of the party of Movement for Socialism, he was elected as senator in 2010 and then as the speaker of senate in January, 2014.
President Li Xiaolin Meets President Truong Tan Sang of Vietnam
On November 9th, President Li Xiaolin, with Mr.Wang Jinshan, President of China-Vietnam Friendship Association(CVFA) and former Party Secretary of Anhui province made a courtesy call to H.E.Mr.Truong Tan Sang, President of Vietnam who will attend the APEC meeting in Beijing.

President Li welcomed President Truong Tan Sang to attend the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders Meeting in Beijing. She said that it was a great pleasure to be the first group of Chinese guests to meet President Truong, which showed the great importance President attached to the People-to-People friendship between the two countries. President Xi Jinping paid high attention to the China’s foreign relations with neighboring countries and raised the principle of “Amity, Sincerity, Mutual-benefit and Inclusiveness”. The CPAFFC and CVFA will implement the principle and deepen the China-Vietnam traditional friendship. As next year marks the 65th Anniversary of the China-Vietnam Diplomatic Ties, CPAFFC and CVFA are willing to cooperate with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations(VUFO) and Vietnam China Friendship Association to well prepare and conduct the related celebrations, so as to further the understanding and friendship between our two countries.

Truong Tan Sang said that it gave him pleasure to meet the new and old Chinese friends and the two countries will celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Diplomatic relations next year. Under the current situation, the CPAFFC, CVFA as well as VUFO shouldered the great responsibility. He expected the friendship associations from two countries to take the 65th anniversary of bilateral relations to plan more activities for friendship to push forward the development of bilateral ties.
President Wang Jinshan recalled the meeting with President Truong Tan Sang in 2010 when he visited Vietnam for the China-Vietnam People-to-People Friendship Gala. He expressed that the CVFA will make continuous efforts to promote the China-Vietnam friendship. President Wang specially read the poems written by President Chí Minh in 1955 when he was in rehabilitation at Mount Huangshan of Anhui province.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Vice President of Caesars Entertainment
On November 4th, President Li Xiaolin met with Bruce C. Bommarito, vice president of the Caesars Entertainment.
President Li talked to Mr. Bommarito about the CPAFFC’s plan to hold an exhibition in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the world anti-fascism war and Chinese people’s war against Japanese aggression next year. She also exchanged views with him on the exhibition’s theme, schedule, venue and scale.
Mr. Bommarito spoke highly of President Li’s unremitting efforts and remarkable contributions to the China-U.S. relations. He expressed his hope to work with the CPAFFC to promote the bilateral ties and his willingness to co-host the photo exhibition in the State of Nevada.
President Li Xiaolin Meets Delegation of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association
On October 29th, President Li Xiaolin met the visiting delegation of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association(TCCEA) headed by President Bhokin Bhalakula.
President Li welcomed Bhokin Bhalakula to visit China and extended the gratitude to the support and arrangements during her visit to Thailand last year by TCCEA.President Li expressed that China’s development brings opportunities to the neighboring countries as well as the Asia-Pacific region and needs more support,understanding and cooperation for future development from Thailand and other countries around the world.
Dr.Bohkin said that the Thailand-China relations are enjoying the comprehensive and pragmatic development now and TCCEA is willing to join with CPAFFC for more bilateral friendly exchanges and cooperation in terms of economic and trade, culture and so on.
The two Presidents also conducted in-depth exchanges on international situation.Mr.Feng Zuoku, Vice President of CPAFFC, was presented during the meeting.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with D. N .Nazarbaeva, Deputy Speaker of Lower House of Kazakhstan and the Chairwoman of the Foundation of the First President of Republic of Kazakhstan
On Oct. 27th, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with D.N. Nazarbaeva, Deputy Speaker of Lower House of Kazakhstan and the Chairwoman of the Foundation of First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
President Li briefed Nazarbaeva about the aim of the CPAFFC and recent status of CPAFFC’s friendly contact with the countries around the world. President Li indicated that, China and Kazakhstan are traditional friendly neighbors. Further developing the relations and enhancing the mutual understandings and friendship of the two peoples are significant for the development of the both countries and maintaining the regional stability. The CPAFFC would like to cooperate with Foundation of the First President of Republic of Kazakhstan under the direction of the strategy of jointly constructing the Silk Road Economic Belt raised by the Chinese President Xi Jinping, to constantly enrich the content of the friendly contact of the two countries.
Nazarbaeva was grateful for President Li’s warm reception. She spoke highly of the outstanding contribution that CPAFFC has made to enhancing the people’s friendship and safeguarding the world peace. She expressed that the Foundation of the First President of Republic of Kazakhstan would like to strengthen the cooperation with CPAFFC in fields of culture, environmental protection, academy, youth exchanges and etc..
Accompanied by President Li, Nazarbaeva viewed the picture exhibition of CPAFFC’s recent work on Kazakhstan affairs. Witnessed by President Li and Chairwoman Nazarbaeva, Vice President Li Jianping and Nurakhanov, Executive Chairman of Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the cooperation of the two organizations.Foundation of the First President is one of the most influential non-profitable organization in Kazakhstan, which was formed in year 2000, aiming at consolidating national system, promoting patriotism, pushing forward the process of democracy of Kazakhstan, facilitating the Kazakhstan’s cultural, economic and political cooperation with other countries. Chairwoman Nazarbaeva of the foundation, who was visiting China at CPAFFC at President Li Xiaolin’s invitation, is the eldest daughter of Kazakhstan President Nazarbaev.

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Governor of Virginia of the United States
On October 22nd, President Li Xiaolin met with Governor Terry McAuliffe of Virginia, the United States, and his delegation. President Li introduced the goals and recent work of CPAFFC and stated that the CPAFFC would serve as a bridge to further promote China-Virginia and China-U.S. friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation. Governor McAuliffe thanked President Li for meeting his delegation. It has been his second China trip since he took office January this year, said the Governor. Virginia attaches great importance to developing the friendly relations with China and welcomes more Chinese investment in the Commonwealth. Secretary Maurice A. Jones of Virginia Commerce and Trade, President & CEO Martin J. Briley of Virginia Economic Development Partnership attended the meeting.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with New French Ambassador to China
On the afternoon of Oct. 14th, H.E. Mr. Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, the new French Ambassador visited the CPAFFC and paid a courtesy call to CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin.
President Li thanked Ambassador for his visit to the CPAFFC. She said, the CPAFFC is actively planning the 4th High-level Cooperation Forum of Chinese and French Local Government which will be held in Strasbourg in this November. She expected the ambassador to support and promote the forum. President Li also wish to strengthen the cooperation with the French Embassy in China, to develop more pragmatic cooperation and exchanges between the Chinese and French local governments.
Ambassador Gourdault-Montagne thanked President Li for finding time for the meeting in her busy schedule. He said, the correlative departments in France are also busily preparing for the forum. The French Embassy in China will do everything to collaborat with the CPAFFC to make the forum a great success. The French Embassy would like to strengthen the cooperation with the CPAFFC and promote the contact of the Chinese and French local authorities.

President Li Xiaolin Attended "Every Woman Every Child" High-level Event During United Nations General Assembly
At the invitation of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President Li Xiaolin visited New York from September 23 to 27. During the visit, she attended the "Every Woman Every Child" high-level event which was held during the 69th United Nations General Assembly and deliver a speech at the opening session. In her speech, President Li spoke highly of the positive role played by "Every Woman Every Child" movement in improving women and children’s health globally since it’s launched by UN Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon. She announced that CPAFFC and Every Woman Every Child project team under the Executive Office of UN Secretary-General will jointly establish China Partnership Network, and will involve more Chinese enterprises, civil society organizations and academic institutes in the improvement of women and children’s health. The Network will serve as a platform for these parties for cooperation. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon hosted the opening session, and called on more national governments and civil society organizations to participate in the Every Woman Every Child movement so as to realize the set goals of the movement at an early date. More than 600 world leaders from political, economic and academic circles attended the event and shared experience and thoughts on further improving women and children’s health worldwide, including Mr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of Tanzania, Mr. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, Ms. Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway, Dr. Jim Yong Kim, President of World Bank Group, Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO, Ms. Sue Desmond-Hellman, CEO of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Madam Margaret Kenyatta, First Lady of Kenya, and Ms. Kim Simplis-Barrow, First Lady of Belize. Women and children’s health work drew more attention from many national governments, civil society organizations and enterprises due to the promotion of Every Woman Every Child movement. During this time’s event, a total of 5 billion USD was committed to support the movement by national governments such as Canada, Norway and the United States, international organizations like World Bank Group and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and enterprises from different countries.
During the visit, President Li Xiaolin also met with Mr. Wu Hongbo, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Mr. Soopakij Chearavanont, Executive Vice Chairman of Chia Tai Group, to discuss future cooperation projects.
President Li Xiaolin of the CPAFFC Meets with Friendly Indian Individuals and Groups
On the afternoon of 18th September, President Li Xiaolin of the CPAFFC met with the first group of awardees of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Friendship Award in New Delhi, and held discussions on strengthening China-India people-to-people exchanges.
President Li congratulated the friendly individuals and groups on receiving the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Friendship Award. Li highly praised them for their contributions to the enhancement of mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Indian peoples, and call them good friends of the Chinese people.
Li said that people-to-people exchange constitutes an important part of bilateral relations. Over the past years, friendship organizations from both countries have organized a series of activities of great significance, and has played a positive role in promoting mutual understanding and trust, and consolidating friendship. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the release of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence co-initiated by China, India and Myanmar. Therefore, the Chinese Government established the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Friendship Award, to felicitate individuals and groups for upholding the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, strengthening people to people friendship and promoting world peace and development. The CPAFFC is entrusted by the Chinese Government in organizing the granting of this award. The friendly groups and individuals present here are the first group of awardees, who have set a good example of promoting China-India friendship and safeguarding world peace and development. Hope you all continue to make more contributions to the China-India friendship, Li said.
Friendly individuals and groups regarded it their great honor to be given the Friendship Award. They made introductions of their groups or themselves, especially their work to promote bilateral relations over the recent years. President Li also presented certificates of Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Friendship Award to the awardees.
The awardees are the Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis family, the Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial Committee, the Department of Chinese Language and Culture (Cheena Bhavana) with the Visva-Bharati University, and the India-China Friendship Association. Dr. Jyoti Mohapatra, secretary general of the Friends of China Society, and Dr. Mohan Reddy, secretary general of the Andra Pradesh Chapter of the India-China Friendship Association, were also granted the award.
