Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Zeynalli, new Azerbaijan Ambassador to China on October 23rd, 2017. Vice President Song welcomed Ambassador Zeynalli to  CPAFFC and to his new post in China. Vice President Song also made a brief introduction about the function of CPAFFC and appreciated the Azerbaijan Embassy in China for giving CPAFFC a lot of support for a long time. He is willing to work together with Ambassador Zeynalli to continue promoting the exchanges of the two peoples and the local cooperation of the two countries. Ambassador Zeynalli thanked Vice President Song for taking his time to meet them and spoke highly of the unique role CPAFFC had played in the exchanges of the friendly cities, the local cooperation and the exchanges of the two peoples. Ambassador Zeynalli also appreciated CPAFFC for making actively contributions to the holding of the reception on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Azerbaijan, and to the development of the bilateral ties. He said that during his tenure, the Azerbaijan Embassy in China will play its role as a bridge to continue keeping close cooperation with CPAFFC to push forward the development of Azerbaijan and China friendship. Mme. Hu Chunmei, Associated Counsel of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of CPAFFC, attended the meeting.

Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), accepted the interview in CPAFFC made by a journalist , Mr. Vadim KAMENKA, from French L’ HUMANITE on the afternoon of October 23rd. Vice President Song answered the questions about the function, and the main duties in the new situation of CPAFFC, Sino-French relations, the cooperative achievements attaining between CPAFFC and Secours Populaire Fran?ais (SPF) for the ten years, how to continue developing the cooperation in the field of poverty alleviation between the two organizations in future and etc.. Vice President Song also interpreted in detail the relevant content of the 19th CPC National Congress report made by General Secretary Xi Jinping to Journalist Vadim KAMENKA. L’HUMANITE is the third largest newspaper in France. Mr. Vadim KAMENKA paid a special visit to China this time to interview and report the 19th CPC National Congress.  

Mr. Zhang Heqiang, Director General of Department of American and Oceanian Affairs, met with Mr. Eric Adams, President of Brooklyn Borough, New York City in Beijing on October 19th, 2017. Director General Zhang welcomed Mr. Adams’ visit to China. He briefly introduced the function of CPAFFC and the achievement we had made in promoting the friendly exchanges between peoples of China and the United States. Mr. Admas said that this was his 6th visit to China.In the future he would like to make more efforts to further the cooperation between Brooklyn Borough and China in the fields of youth exchange, culture, business and trade, etc.

Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mr. Johannes Regenbrecht, new minister of the German Embassy in China on October 18th. Vice President Song Jingwu made an introduction to Minister Johannes Regenbrecht about cooperative situation between CPAFFC and Germany over the past years. Both sides also had an in-depth exchange on people-to-people and cultural exchanges of the two countries, and local governments cooperation and other fields. Johannes Regenbrecht said that the Germany Embassy in China had regarded CPAFFC as an important cooperative institution and would like to actively enhance people-to-people exchange between the two countries during his tenure. Mr. Lv Hongwei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of CPAFFC, attended the meeting.

On the afternoon of October 17th, Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Chinese and Japanese youth ambassadors delegation which consisted of senior high school students from two countries. Mr. Cheng Haibo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Japanese Affairs of CPAFFC, Mr. Gao Zhiyong, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, Mr. YOKOO HIROSHI, President of Aeon Group 1% Club, attended the meeting. Vice president Song welcomed Chinese and Japanese youth ambassadors to CPAFFC. He said that people-to-people friendship is the fine tradition of the Sino-Japanese relations. The foundation of the friendship between China and Japan is among the people-to-people, and the hope is in the youth. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. This achievement had obtained is inseparable from the old generation’s unremitting efforts. The bright future of the bilateral relations need to be made also by the youths of the two countries with fixed belief and joining hands. He hoped that these students could attach importance to and cherish this mutual exchange opportunity of the youth ambassadors between the two countries as well as make active contribution to the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship through their actions in future. President YOKOO HIROSHI said，until now, over 2000 senior high students of the two countries had already exchanged each other through Japanese and Chinese youth ambassadors program, which was regarded as one of the important parts of exchanges with China for Aeon Group and effectively enhanced the mutual understanding and friendly feeling of the youth between China and Japan. In future, Aeon Group will commit to the exchange of the youth of the two countries as before and train the successors for the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship. Vice President Song made an introduction about the situation of the people-to-people exchanges CPAFFC had developed with Japan and answered the questions raised by Chinese and Japanese youth ambassadors.

Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Mrs. Jaime Moreno, President of Colombia-China Friendship Association (CCFA), and her delegation on October 16th. Vice President Xie said, it was glad to reunite again with President Jaime Moreno and other old friends in Beijing. He also spoke highly of the efforts and contributions CCFA had made on the cause of China-Colombia friendship since the establishment of CCFA 40 years ago.  President Jaime Moreno expressed heartfelt thanks for the great support CPAFFC had given in CCFA. Both sides also exchanged their views on further promoting the exchanges and cooperation of the two peoples. During the meeting, President Jaime Moreno wished the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China holding smoothly. In addition, the Colombian Embassy in China also specially held commemorative activity of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of CCFA and spoke highly of the important contributions CCFA had made on the development of the bilateral relations and thanked CPAFFC for firm support in the cause of the friendship between the two countries over the past years.  

On October 9th to 13th, at the invitation of Peace and Friendship Organization of Mongolia(PFOM),Vice President Lin Yi led a CPAFFC delegation to visit the Mongolia. Vice President Lin held a work meeting with Mr.DELEG ZAGDJAV, Chairman of PFOM and signed the Cooperation MOU between CPAFFC and PFOM 2018-2020, which drew the blueprint for the China-Mongolia People-to-People friendship work under the strategic syncronization of the Belt and Road Initiative and Road of Grassland of Mongolia. VP Lin also met Vice Mayor Ankhmaa of Ulaanbaatar city, Prof. Chimedtseye, Director of Confucius Institute in National University of Mongolia and visited the Representative Office of Bank of China in Ulaanbaatar to conduct the in-depth exchanges on promoting the China-Mongolia People-to-People friendship work on local government, youth, culture and charity work and reached common consensus with the related counterparts. Besides, VP Lin and her delegation also made a courtesy call to H. E. Mr. Xing Haiming, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia.  

Mr. Li Xikui, Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Director of China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD), met with Rotary International (China)  delegation in CPAFFC on October 12th. Secretary General Li Xikui expressed warm welcome to the delegation and made an introduction about the main function, duties of CPAFFC and CFFPD, and the roles CPAFFC and CFFPD playing in promoting the cooperation between China and overseas NGOs. He also said that CPAFFC and CFFPD would like to further develop the exchanges and cooperation with Rotary International. Mrs. Zhang Shaoling，Chinese Special Representative of Rotary International (China) thanked Secretary General Li Xikui for taking his time to meet the delegation. She expressed that, CPAFFC has a great influence in the sector of overseas NGOs. She hoped to work together with CPAFFC and CFFPD in the future to develop new models of the cooperation and the exchanges. Mr. Ye Shouzhang, Chinese Special Representative of  Rotary International (China), and Mr. Regula Hwang Ma-Koller, Representative of Rotary International (China), and representatives from Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian Rotary, attended the meeting.

On October 10, Mr. Sun Xueqing, Director General of Department of Asian and African Affairs, met with 27 African journalists from the 4th China-Africa Press Center Program. Mr. Sun began by briefly illustrating the role played by the CPAFFC in the Belt and Road initiative to the African journalists. He emphasized that the mission of CPAFFC is to enhance people-to-people connectivity, and further introduced how the CPAFFC brings Chinese and African people closer from perspectives of culture, trade and economy, youth, local government and charity. He said that the CPAFFC is willing to stay in contact with the African media to jointly tell the story of China-Africa friendship. Mr. Sun also had in-depth discussions with them. The China-Africa Press Center is organized by the China Public Diplomacy Association and aims to help the African media and journalists get a comprehensive understanding of China’s national conditions and current situations of China-Africa relations, in order to further strengthen China-Africa media exchanges and cooperation and enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and African peoples.

Mr. Chen Yuan, Vice Chairman of National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and President of China and Russia Friendship Association (CRFA), led a delegation which consisted of CRFA members to attend the commemorative conference of the 60th anniversary of founding of Russia and China Friendship Association which was held in Russian National Theater on October 9th, 2017. In the conference, Mr. MATVIENKO, Chairman of Russia Federation Council (RFC), and Mr. Li Hui, Ambassador of Chinese Embassy in Russia, announced the congratulatory letters of the two heads of states respectively. Chairman MATVIENKO, Vice Chairman Chen Yuan and RCFA Chairman Mezentsev, made speeches respectively. They all spoke highly of the active role RCFA had played in promoting the friendship of the two countries and developing the activities in various fields. Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out in the congratulatory letter that RCFA had been adhering to the friendly concept to lay a solid public support and social foundation for the bilateral relations for the last 60 years since the founding of RCFA. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his congratulatory letter that CRFA and RCFA had made outstanding contributions to the humanity exchanges and local cooperation of the two countries. After that, the Russian Alexander Red-Flag Song and Dance Troupe gave an excellent performance. It was full of warm and friendly atmosphere.
