2nd Roundtable Summit of Global CEO Council Successfully Held
The 2nd Roundtable Summit of the Global CEO Council (GCC) was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 9, 2014. Premier Li Keqiang met with all the members of GCC who attended the 2nd Roundtable Summit. They are from Volkswagen, IBM, Siemens, Nokia, Cargill, Prologies, Standard Chartered Bank, DSM, and Schneider. Ministers from NDRC, MFPRC, MIIT, MOA, MOFCOM and Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of CPAFFC also attended the summit.
Initiated by Chinese People''''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) on June 6, 2013, GCC aims to bring together the specially invited CEOs of the world’s largest multinational corporations to have the highest level of direct communications with Chinese leaders for understanding, friendship, cooperation and common development between China and the world.
Premier Li Keqiang appraised GCC''''s format, and welcomed the recommendations and suggestions about China''''s economic development from the GCC members. In the summit, CEOs shared their ideas and thoughts on a wide range of common concerned issues such as food security, energy efficiency, environmental protection, innovation and high-tech cooperation. Primer Li responded their questions in depth.
The CEOs spoke highly of the achievement China had made in economic reform and development over more than 30 years. They also expressed their willingness to continue their participation in China''''s deepening economic reform by expanding the scale of innovation cooperation, joint R&D and increasing production capacity with Chinese partners for mutual benefits and win-win results.
Mme. Li Xiaolin met with the CEOs before the summit. She said GCC not only gives the opportunities for business leaders to listen to Chinese leaders’ thought and vision about China and the world economic development trend, and gain a better understanding of their governing strategy; also it allows the business leaders to have their recommendation and suggestion directly to the Chinese leader as well as discuss the ways of achieving win-win cooperation for common development and prosperity.
Dr. Ma Peihua, Vice President of CPPCC and Vice President of China Oceania Friendship Association Attended 2014 China-Australia Economic Forum
Hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and co-organized by Australia China Friendship and Exchange Association and Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, China-Australia Economic Forum was convened at China Congdu International Summit in Guangzhou on July 7th, 2014.
Dr. Ma Peihua, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference National Committee, Vice President of China Oceania Friendship Association, Hon. John Howard, Former Prime Minister of Australia and over 200 Political and Economic Leaders and Entrepreneurs from both countries attended this forum. The attendees had an in-depth discussion on some hot topics on the trade and economic relations between China and Australia and suggestions to push forward the China-Australia comprehensive partnership and sustainable stable development of China-Australia trade and economic relations.

CPPCC Vice Chairman Chen Yuan Meets with Mezentsev, Secretary-General of SCO
On July 6th, Mr. Chen Yuan, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) met with Mr. Dmitry Mezentsev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), who was attending China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum in Lanzhou at the CPAFFC’s invitation. The both sides had a cordial and friendly conversation.
CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin, Mr. Feng Jianshen, Chairman of CPPCC in Gansu were present at the meeting.
China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum was jointly organized by CPAFFC and Gansu provincial people’s government.
Vice Chairman Chen Yuan of CPPCC Meets VIPs from Central Asia
On July 5th, Mr. Chen Yuan, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) meets with H.E. Khairulloev Saidullo, the former Speaker of Council of Tajikistan and other VIPs and envoys attending China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum in Lanzhou.
Vice Chairman Chen Yuan extended his welcome to VIPs from Central Asian countries for their attendance in China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum. He spoke highly of the relations between China and 5 countries. He described the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s strategic scheme on jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt. At the same time, he wished this forum would promote the building of "One Belt and One Road" (refers to the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road") , and play an active role in cooperation between China and Central Asia.
Mr. Khairulloev extended his appreciation for being invited to attend the forum, and highly valued the CPAFFC’s leading role in cooperation of local authorities. He indicated that the preparation of the forum has reached international standard. He believed that China and Central Asian countries would all benefit from this platform.
The other attendants of the forum and foreign envoys thanked the CPAFFC and Gansu People’s Government for their efforts assuring the success of the forum, and wished the forum become better and better.

Photo Exhibition in Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Initiation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse
In the morning of 29th June, the photo exhibition in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the initiation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence was held by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin accompanied Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao, Myanmar President U Thein Sein and Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari to visit the exhibition.
In June 1954, the Chinese government issued joint statements with the governments of India and Myanmar respectively,which set forth and advocated the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence (namely mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other''''s internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit,and peaceful coexistence) as norms in handling state-to-state relations. Sixty years on, the Five Principles have become the cornerstone of China''''s independent foreign policy of peace. Widely recognized and observed by the international community as basic principles guiding relations between countries, the Five Principles have promoted the sound and stable growth of international relations, safeguarded international fairness and justice, and contributed greatly to world peace and human progress.
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the initiation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. The CPAFFC selects 80 valuable photos for the exhibition, which record the 60 extraordinary years of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. The exhibition consists of 3 parts, which collects photos from various periods after the initiation of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, Sino-India relations as well as China-Myanmar relations.Photos of the exhibition present high-level communications, people-to-people exchanges and China’s foreign aid, etc.

China-Myanmar Friendship Association Hosts Luncheon for Myanmar President
Mr. Geng Zhiyuan, Executive Vice President of China-Myanmar Friendship Association, hosted luncheon for visiting Myanmar President U Thein Sein and his delegates at Diaoyutai Guest House on 28 June 2014.
Mr. Geng conveyed to President U Thein Sein greetings from Madame Li Xiaolin (President of CPAFFC) and Mr. Feng Zuoku (Vice President of CPAFFC and President of China-Myanmar Friendship Association). Mr. Geng said that China-Myanmar friendship has endured test of time and become stronger and that both countries are currently undergoing rapid changes. China-Myanmar Friendship Association and Myanmar-China Friendship Association, approved by President U Thein Sein, have jointly made contributions to people-to-people exchanges between China and Myanmar.
President U Thein Sein highly appreciates what China-Myanmar Friendship Association has done for bilateral relations. He said that Myanmar and China are connected by rivers and mountains. The two peoples share long history of friendship. He expressed hope that the friendship associations in Myanmar and China make further concerted efforts in carrying forward and developing traditional friendship between people of Myanmar and China.
Vice President Hu Sishe Meets with Chairman of Force Union between Russian and Cossacks Abroad
On June 27th, CPAFFC Vice President Hu Sishe met with Mr. Victor Petrovic Walterlasky, Chairman of Force Union between Russian and Cossacks Abroad and his delegation. The both sides discussed on events of exchanges of youth and traditional culture.
Vice President Hu welcomed Chairman Walterlasky and briefed him about the status of the CPAFFC. He said, the CPAFFC paid great attention to the relationship with Russia, and has been engaged in friendship works to Russia for a long time. After the heads of State of the two countries raised the idea of establishing Comprehensive Strategic and Collaborative Partnership, the cooperation between the two countries has been continuously deepened from political mutual trust to economic cooperation, developing to cultural exchanges. Among these works, the exchange of youth is one of the emphases of the CPAFFC’s work. Starting from youth, further consolidating the basic of friendship, is very significant of developing in-depth cooperation.
Chairman Walterlasky thanks for Vice President Hu’s hospitality. He gave a brief introduction of culture of Cossacks. He said, his visit to China this time impressed him very much. He hoped to jointly set up a long-term and healthy platform with the CPAFFC, to develop cooperation especially in exchanges of youth education and Cossack culture. He proposed that, in this October, Force Union between Russian and Cossacks Abroad will cooperate with the Commission for Economic Cooperation of CIFA, to organize a 100-person delegation formed by students to visit China. He would take this as an opportunity to open a door for the cooperation of the both sides. At the same time, he sincerely invited President Li Xiaolin and Vice President Hu Sishe to visit Russia.
Song Jingwu, Director-General of Department of European and Asian Affairs attended the meeting, and gave a brief introduction on friendly exchange work to Russia.
After the meeting, Zhou Ruiming, Secretary General of Commission for Economic Cooperation of CIFA and Chairman Walterlasky signed an agreement on developing youth exchanges.
Reception Marking 40th Anniversary of Establishment of China-Trinidad and Tobago Diplomatic Relations Held in Beijing
The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago co-organized the Reception marking the 40th Anniversary of Establishment of China-Trinidad and Tobago Diplomatic Relations in Beijing on 24th, June. Guests from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Ministry of Commerce of China, embassies of Latin American and Caribbean Countries in China and other relevant institutions attended the reception, including Mr. Qiangba Puncog, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. Zhang Kunsheng, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Xie mentioned in his speech that since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, the bilateral relations between China and Trinidad and Tobago developed smoothly. Political mutual trust, pragmatic cooperation, cultural exchanges and peoples’ friendship have been developed and fruitful. Under the framework of sound and deepened growth of bilateral relations, people-to-people exchanges at local level and in cultural field also flourished. Entrusted by the Chinese government, CPAFFC is the leading department in managing sister city work of China. CPAFFC is willing to work with Trinidad and Tobago to help establish the first pair of sister cities between the two countries.
H.E. Mr. Singh delivered a vivid speech and highly remarked the China-Trinidad and Tobago relationship and pragmatic cooperation on diverse fields between the two sides. He also expressed the willingness from Trinidad and Tobago side to enhance the communication and deepen the people’s friendship between the two countries.
On the occasion, H.E. Mr. Singh, together with musicians from China Oriental Performing Arts Group presented unique dances and songs, showing the successful cooperation between the two countries and the long-lasting friendship between the two peoples.
Vice President Feng Zuoku meets with Abdelmouniem, new Secretary General of Council For International People’s Friendship
CPAFFC Vice President Feng Zuoku met with Abdelmouniem Alsuni Ahmed, new Secretary General of Council For International People’s Friendship of Sudan(CIPFS) on June 24.
Feng expressed warm welcome to the visit of the CIPFS delegation and said that CPAFFC is ready to continue the close cooperation with CIPFS for the further development of China-Sudan cultural and local government cooperation. As for the 5th China-Arab Friendship Conference (CAFC), Feng hoped that the Conference could be held in Sudan since the political situation of Iraq, the planned place of the Ministers’ Meeting of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, is not stable.
Abdelmouniem said that CIPFS has established communications with 67 organizations including CPAFFC all over the world. CIPFS is ready to cooperate with CPAFFC to promote China-Sudan exchanges in the fields of sister-cities, universities and research institutions. Abdelmouniem also condemned the terrorist attacks in China recently. As for the 5th CAFC, Abdelmouniem said that Sudan is experienced in hosting the international conferences and is willing to host the 5th CAFC.
