On August 29, 2025, Shen Xin, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), attended and delivered remarks at a symposium hosted in Beijing by the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (ICCIC) to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Zhang Ge, Secretary of the CPC Haidian District Committee of Beijing; Jiao Yutong, Vice President of the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Michael Crook, President of ICCIC; Mike Dawson, President of the New Zealand China Friendship Society; relatives and descendants of international friends; ICCIC members; as well as experts and scholars from related fields—nearly 100 participants in total—attended the event.

In his remarks, Vice President Shen Xin paid high tribute to ICCIC and the international friends who fought alongside the Chinese people and made significant contributions to China's revolution, development, and reform. He noted that ICCIC's assistance during the War of Resistance was a vivid manifestation of the spirit of internationalism, bringing friendship and hope to the Chinese people in the midst of war. He stressed that in today's world, still confronted with challenges such as regional conflicts and climate change, the enduring significance of the "ICCIC Spirit", working together for the common good, has become all the more evident. It is hoped that ICCIC and the descendants of international friends would continue to share the stories of their forebears, advocate peace and dialogue, and build bridges of cooperation. The CPAFFC is ready to further deepen its cooperation with ICCIC, sustain friendly exchanges with the descendants of international friends, carry forward and promote the ICCIC spirit, enhance friendship among peoples, uphold peace and justice, and join hands with friends from around the world to advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
