On August 18, 2025, Lu Xiangdong, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with James Kimonyo, Rwandan Ambassador to China. The two sides spoke highly of China-Rwanda relations and exchanged views on enhancing people-to-people exchanges, strengthening subnational cooperation, and promoting cultural exchanges.

Huang Xiaowei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian and African Affairs of the CPAFFC, was present at the meeting.
