From August 18, 2025 to August 22, 2025, to further implement President Xi Jinping's policy on Pacific Island countries and to empower Pacific youth in entrepreneurship, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) invited student representatives from nine Pacific Island countries studying in China—Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Kiribati, the Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu—to Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, for the Pacific Islands Session of the 2025 Run with Yiwu—Global Youth Business Program. Ambassadors of Pacific Island countries to China, including H.E. Mr. Tauaika Utaatu, Ambassador of Tonga to China; H.E. Mr. KS (Vincent) Sivas, Ambassador of the Federated States of Micronesia to China; and H.E. Mr. Robert Lee, Ambassador of Fiji to China; attended the closing ceremony.

During their stay in Yiwu, the delegation took part in e-commerce lectures and youth innovation and entrepreneurship dialogues, learning how to unlock the "golden key" that enables products to cross mountains and seas and connect with the world, while further strengthening bonds of friendship between Chinese and Pacific youth. Through visits to the Yiwu Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Yiwu International Trade City, and Suxi Town, they gained insights into Yiwu's remarkable journey from "bartering sugar for chicken feathers" to "trading with the world", and experienced the dynamism of the "World Small Commodity Hub." They also engaged in hands-on experiences with traditional Chinese medicine and intangible cultural heritage crafts in Gangyao Village, where they witnessed the harmonious integration of tradition and modernity.
