The China-EU Association (CEUA), was announced in November 11, 2001. Ms. He Luli, former vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress serves as its honorary president, and Mr. Chen Haosu, former president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries serves as its president.
The CEUA aims to develop relations between China and the EU and its member countries, expand international exchange and cooperation and safeguard world peace. The CEUA is dedicated to developing the diplomacy with EU, including enhance understanding, trust and friendship between the non-governmental organizations, local friendly organizations and people from all kinds of fields, to promote economic cooperation and cultural exchange, to help establish friendship cities relationships and establish contacts with local government, under the professional guidance, supervision and management by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. As today, The CEUA has more than 110 group members and individual members from 23 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.
Since the China-EU Association inception, it has held a series of meaningful activities to the Chinese public about the development of the European Union, and to promote China-EU economic, social and cultural cooperation, such as: the Euro Roadshow, the Debate of the Enlargement of the European Union’s Influence on China , China-EU Art Summer Camp, the EU 50 years Exhibition and EU Climate Change Exhibition, as well as the China-Europe People-to-People Dialogue on Friendship and Cooperation etc..
